Minigrbl on a K40. Vector Lines not connecting - Resolved

I was having issues with line wobble so I adjusted my acceleration which solved the wobble but ended up causing my vector lines to no longer connect. After poking around on the forum reading about minimum speeds to fire. I tried tweaking the minimum power I stepped it up slowly and ran into an odd thing if the minimum power $31 is lower than 100 the lines still don’t connect and over 100 the laser doesn’t fire. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

As far as I know, you do not have the option to set other values for $31 than 1 or 0. (K40 / grbl).
It will always be an advantage to show your LightBurn settings for the layer you are having problems with, in order to better help you.

Sorry here is the $$ output and a screen cap of the settings.

For good measure, do you have a K40 with a Mini-Gerbil controller?
If so, then there are some settings that do not match the ones I use with the same machine configuration. First of all, $30 should be the same as “S-value max”. (mine are both at 1000). And $31 should stand at 1.
There are a few other options that are not the same as mine but that does not necessarily have to be a problem. I generally drive a bit conservatively with my settings and feel best about it.

Another thing is, I use mm / min, which gives me a lot more feeling with my speeds. Your 110mm / s is equivalent to 6600mm / min - which I know for sure, a K40 will never be able to drive with. I often see it here in the forum and wonder why people do not discover that their K40 does not run so fast at all. A standard K40 can not start up and brake so fast at all.

Thanks a bunch for your help. I matched up my S=Value max and my$30 and changed $31 to 1 which seemed to solve my problem. Though I had only changed the $31 after running into the issue so my guess it was the S=Value max miss match. Thanks again for sharing your time and expertise.

You are very welcome.
Will you be so kind and mark the subject as resolved. Others can then better use it as a possible solution to their problem.

Bernd
