Just got my Piburn rotary and started running some test cups and something strange happened. I was engraving PNG’s with no problem so I then tried doing a logo. I did not mirror the writing and on my 80 W AF2028 in Lightburn it was not showing as mirrored, on my controller it did not show as mirrored but when it engraved the logo the writing was backwards. Why did this happen?
A couple of considerations:
- Maybe you actually need to mirror the output to the rotary
- Perhaps rotate the orientation of the rotary by 180 degrees
I think this is correct.
@berainlb is correct… mine was backwards also… Either of his solutions should work.
I preferred mine to sit in the machine with the motor on the right, but had to mirror the source.
I swapped the field windings at the rotaries connector. Now it sits correctly in the machine and even goes the right way to boot.
