Monport 65w X axis engraving half the settings

I’m having trouble with the Lightburn settings on the Monport. I go to engrave a 3inch by 3inch square but I get 1.5 inch by 3.0 inch. I lightburn I have set 3.0 x 3.0 square. I have compared the Lightburn setting on my laptop that I use on the Omtech, I have not any troubles with Lightburn on the Omtech. Lightburn version 2.0.05

Most often question asked for this: “Do you have the Rotary switch on?”

That’s odd I have the DSP version 2.0.05 on my laptop that I use on the Omtech has a rotary setting in the laser tools but in the desktop when I go to laser tool there is no rotary setting. Both version 2.0.05. The Monport 65 w pro is a desktop laser.

Is Beginner Mode in Settings turned on?

no it’s off

You have neither of these chouces for the Rotary?

No I do not have either one I have a Lightburn pro 2.0.05 on my laptop in the garage hooked up to the Omtech and I have lightburn pro on my desktop hooked up to Monport 65w and theis one does not have either rotary symbol or rotary in the laser list

Is this a new problem on a previously working laser or a new laser that has never worked properly?

Just bought a new laser setting it up

Did you install the .lbdev file from the flash disk that came with the laser? If not, do that first.

Please post a screenshot (not a cell phone pic) of your entire Lightburn screen with your project loaded and the Cuts/Layers Panel and Laser Panel visible. Also post a screenshot of the Settings Window (Gears icon) with the Editor Settings tab visible and post a screenshot of the Device Settings Window (Wrench and Screwdriver icon)Dimensions/Units tab and the Basic Settings tab. Alos post screenshots of the Machine Settings window(Laser Tools> Machine
Settings) You will need to click on Vendor Settings and say yes to the warning. You will have to scroll down in order to show everything.

What I see in machine settings is rotary mode is normal, which I assume means off. Maybe see what other options are there. This is a different controller than mine, I have an Enable Rotary True/False switch. Your steps on the X and Y axis are almost identical, which is normal.

I have no idea why you don’t have a rotary dialog in Lightburn.

If playing with the rotary settings in Machine settings doesn’t yield resuts, you will probably need to contact Monport since this is a new machine. Good luck with that, from what I hear.

You might get a response from Lightburn Staff after the first of the year also. They are running a skeleton crew over the holiday and have not been on the forum much lately.

If the Monport has a TopWisdom controller as mentioned in the profile, then LightBurn can’t control it and that mode may be inadvertently enabled at the controller display.

Also, having Machine Coordinates enabled for a non-CNC controller will surely have weird consequences. Whether that cancels some TopWisdom weirdness is beyond my ken.

That would explain a lot.

I don’t know anything about TopWisdom, I only have medium wisdom, LOL.
