New Laser, Vision has never been calibrated
Issue calibrating the camera installed in the unit.
I have tried many different ways, only successful twice but the image was distorted when I went to align the camera.
Things I have done:
Light color cardboard on whole surface
White paper on whole surface
No tape on lights
One and two layers of blue tape on lights
Correct height adjustment
Checked camera Focus
Tried the Apriltag printed from lightburn
Tried the dots that came with Laser
Tried the dots printed from Lightburn
Tried mirroring the placement of targets
Tried lighting up the target with a flashlight through the cover
Restarted lightburn between retries
The two times I succeeded in getting through the calibration the images were too distorted.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
When I print the Apriltags they print in a full 8.5 x 11 sheet, is that correct? Because the camera doesn’t see them.
I’m having the same exact issue with my Reno 65 pro vision. Can never get a fully good calibration on the lens. I think it’s because the leds are reflecting off the lens causing that glare on the left and right-hand sides. I have tried several things to stop that from happening but all have been unsuccessful unfortunately. No amount of tape over the LEDs help. I even went as far as to cut a couple pieces of basswood strips and cover the LEDS completely by taping the strips over them, but that makes it even harder to calibrate since there is no longer any light in the chamber to illuminate the target. I have pretty much given up at this point and just went with the best calibration I could get.
Guess I am glad I am not the only one having issues. I covered the lights with electrical tape and made LED lights right by the camera (Picture). Using the Wide Angle setting, the DOT pattern calibrated really good but in the end the image was distorted, warped. I could never get the April tags to calibrate even on the first image. I changed to NOT wide angle, and I could calibrate using the April tags but again the image was distorted (see picture). I had to remove the tape to do the alignment. Not sure what to do now.
