I have an idea that others may like. When I look at a LB window, I see all kinds of buttons and stuff. What about an image where the control settings are numbered and a list of what they do. When I open a window with settings, I have no idea what some of them are. I know this would be a massive project, and the LB Team is too busy answering questions to do this. Maybe we can crowd-source it with help from those experienced users (please don’t hate me for this suggestion) I keep seeing pop up. I can do my part by creating the images and numbering the control & fields.
Are you imagining something different than what’s already available in the documentation?

I clicked on the Tools link and what I see is more a “How-to”, which is good. But I am looking for something like a “What-For” explanation, keyed to the actual buttons and fields.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but every menu and tool is listed and explained in terms of function. It’s not so much a how-to.
Here’s a sample from one of many sections. This looks similar to the description you had in the original post from what I could gather.
I pulled up the Tool Settings window and moused over the Perforation Setting button. Nothing popped up for the hint. Other buttons do the same. The system is awesome, but because it is so massive/comprehensive, it is difficult to get a good overview. If the current system serves the majority of Newbies, then I have spoken out of turn. I am just trying to see the dots in the big picture. I am not dissing LB, Microsoft could take a lesson from those guys.
To be clear I’m not suggesting you’re being negative. I’m just literally trying to understand what you’re proposing that’s different than what’s currently available in order to be able to gauge the relative value of such a project. A ton of work has been put into the existing documentation and I’d guess that it’s underutilized as it is since many aren’t aware of its existence.
