More Camera setup issues

I have the 140 degree 5 megapixel Lightburn camera and am using a laptop running Windows 10. The camera is 16" about the surface where parts are laid. I have a Atomstack X7 Pro diode laser which has a 410mm X 400mm engraving area.

There is no honeycomb under the laser, just MDF and it is pretty clean.

If I focus the camera so that the dots pattern is crisp, when I go to the first step to capture the pattern, I have to refocus the camera otherwise I get the pattern not found message. If I refocus, the best scores I get are in the 50 points and up range. In some locations such as the top, it won’t find the pattern.

If I accept the default settings for the LB camera, the overlay is as much as an inch off.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you completed the camera alignment step after calibration?

Yes but the targets are quite fuzzy and difficult to accurately mark.

Can you take screenshots of you going through the calibration process?

I didn’t realize you could even proceed with the camera calibration at those scores.

What’s your lighting situation with the camera?

If you accept the default calibration for a LB camera, you go directly to alignment.

I’ll take screenshots tomorrow.

Ah. Got you. Still curious how the alignment could be so far off.

Alignment is fixed.

I watched the video again and then enlarged the alignment pattern by 50%. In the process, I discovered that the camera capture didn’t show the full bed. What is odd, is the camera sees the full be in the camera control. Anyway, I ran the alignment and now all is perfect.
