More xtool s1 40w/lightburn woes!

Hello all,

More issues with the s1 compatibility and lightburn.

After a firmware update for the laser module on the s1 I now have found that the lightburn software won’t home the laser. Also if try and move the laser with the move arrows or even start a job the laser just hangs and shows the streaming time but no movement. I then have to click on the stop button to stop the streaming . Ive also noticed a lot of strange and meaningless letters, numbers and other punctuation symbols running in the console widow. I am using the lbdev file that was developed by the lightburn staff some time ago and all was well until this last xtool firmware update. I would almost say its like a communication issue. However if I use the lbdev file developed by xtool, the laser works as well as it can with that file, and of course the s1 works perfectly with the xtool xcs studio software. So can any of the lightburn team help?
Many thanks,
Steve

If XTool changed what the controller is sending back and forth then they’ve likely broken it.

The profile released by us uses the S1 in “direct” mode, not GRBL emulation mode. Until we can get updated firmware and figure out what changed, you’re likely stuck. Is there any way to revert to the prior version of the firmware?
