The move arrows onscreen work back, left, right but the forward (Y-) sends the head into the endstop of the +Y axis! I am not aware of having changed anything. Help please…
Which machine? the Genmitsu listed in your profile?
Is this a new problem or a newly discovered problem?
For my smaller Genmitsu machine the instructions showed me that I had to remove the hand-control in order to communicate with it.
I’d like to confirm your model number and see if there’s anything in their documentation about removing the hand control when connected to the computer. 
It’s a ProVerXL 4030 which I recently added a laser to. I do not use a remote and the machine responds correctly to jog controls in other programs as a traditional CNC so I do not suspect anything there. The machine responds correctly to the on-screen jog arrows in 3 out of 4 directions. It appears that the “key” on the screen for “Y-” is generating the wrong command codes?
I am happy to say I have found the problem. grbl $10 had somehow been left at 3 despite me setting it to 0 (or thought I had!). Hence the confused response to the move arrows. My bad - apologies all round. DRB
