My laser stops when I start recording!

Hello, I just started using a s30 pro 20watt .
My problem is that when I make a cut, as it is after an engraving, as soon as I start, the laser stops and the laser (light) turns off.
If I don’t turn off the machine and wait a few seconds, the problem continues.
Also something strange happens to me, when I make a cut, at the end, the time indicator continues running, and the remaining time becomes negative, and I have to manually press the stop button (with an engraving it DOES NOT happen to me)
Thank you

I observe that when I start to cut, on many occasions it stops, cuts 2 or 3 mm and stops, the laser turns off, and the console does not display any error code or anything… :frowning:

Finally I can’t cut anything, after half an hour turned off, I wanted to cut some letters, and in the first “A”, it has stopped. The console doesn’t say anything :frowning: I don’t understand!

The most common issue is a bad USB connection. Try to exchange the cable for a high-quality one. This solves 95% of these issues.
Next, check that the power line is stable and free of interference from other devices.
There is a list of common error sources here: Guide to mechanical adjustments and maintenance

thanks  today buy a new cable!! The strange thing is that it only happens to me with the cut. When it is an engraving, which are larger files, it does not happen.

Do you use the air assist pump only during cuts? Then it could also be caused by the starting pump.

I only use the air pump during the cut, but it starts fine, and when the laser stops, until I click the stop button, the pump doesn’t stop.

In any case, I’m going to try now and when the cut fails again, I’m going to repeat the cut WITHOUT air assistance to see what happens and I’ll tell you!
Thank you

its very strangre
1º - air assist ON - FAIL
2º - ar assist OFF - WORK!
3º - air assist ON - WORK!

Nothing, this does not improve… now I have tried the same cut 5 times, with air, without air… and nothing, it cuts a bit and it stops, I touch the stop button, and the laser stays “busy” … :frowning:

I thought that it would be the laser or the plate that was defective… but I have engraved a lot of photos, one right now… and perfect, it only makes me stop at the cut… :frowning:

Do you see any strange signs in the console? Still, the most likely cause is a bad USB connection. Second, make sure there is no other electrical device on the same power line that might cause power spikes (I had one user where the laser turned off every time the kitchen fan was turned on).

Thank you very much for your help!!
What surprises me the most is that the machine works great with engravings, even with files lasting hours!
Nothing appears in the console!
I bought a new cable that arrived today.
I have the machine plugged in next to a small extractor, I’m going to plug it into another socket to test or turn it off.
I’ll tell you later.
a million thanks!!
And sorry for my english, I use google translate =)

When doing a picture the laser varies in power and turns off and on a lot. When cutting your laser is on continuously which causes a thermal cascade which reduces your power output.

Good morning, sorry, I have had some family problems and I have not used the machine and the forum.
I bought a good, long, new USB, and it seems to work fine now…
It still surprises me that it was that, because with engraving it never happened, only with cutting…
But thank you very much,
