My laser stops every time I select to frame something, the laser window shows BUSY 98% as if was a project running when there is nothing sent to burn and remains so for a long time and suddenly change to Ready and when I press frame again it shows BUSY again. I uninstalled Lightburn and reinstalled but the problem persists, the I installed LaserGRBL and that software works fine. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Im just adding this part because I closed Lightburn and the main window closed but the small windows remain open, the art library,move, cuts/layers and laser, for sure there’s a big problem with this software.

I see that there is an error reported in your console window. Have you looked at addressing what is causing this error message?

One of the things provided here on this forum is a search tool. Using this you should find several posts addressing this Error:8 condition. Here is a good one to start with.

As a side note, calling our effort to provide better laser cutter software “crap” is rude and not helpful. If you are not happy with what we are developing, you have other options. I am confident you have better ways to express whatever has you frustrated, but the way you have entered this forum is not providing the best look for you and might reduce the number of members willing to respond to your request.

I’ve a anoying issue what I think is Lightburn the one causing this problem. Every time I try to frame something this crap(lightburn) doesn’t respond, the laser moves to a specific point every time and stops and the laser window shows BUSY as if a project was running some times shows that is 98% and some times shows from 97% to 100% and stays forever. i’m in a group on facebook and just yesterday there were 2 guys reporting the same issue, this is frustraiting specialy because LIGHTBURN ridiculously does not have cosrumer service. I hope someone could help me to fix this anoying issue.

I’m not sure where you’ve gotten this idea - multiple people from our team have been trying to help you, despite your insults and generally poor attitude.

Saying “LaserGRBL works fine, so it’s not my Ortur” means little, because LaserGRBL works differently than LightBurn.

LightBurn does provide official support and customer service. You are reading responses from us and the head developer right now. We provide these services directly and do not recommend some random Facebook page when you want to get support from the folks that write the software. Be nice, and we can assist. Maybe it is ok to offer insults on facebook, but we do not appreciate this approach here. Please check your attitude at the door, then we can continue to try and assist you.

That looks like you have a hardware fault, though it’s possible it’s just a buggy firmware version. I would contact Ortur Support. There is an updated firmware version for the Ortur that has addressed a number of issues they’ve had, and wouldn’t be surprised if this was among them.

Having said that, if the machine gets locked out or in an alarm state, sending more commands won’t work - you have to reset the controller first. If you do get an error or alarm message, look at the first error or alarm message you see in the console, as that will be the important one, and any errors that follow are likely just more problems caused by the first thing.
