MySweety CNC-3018Pro 5500mW Laser won't burn

My laser turns on but will not burn on any material, including wood and cardboard.

I have the Fire button enabled and can see the laser come on and go off. The laser fires when you click start. Here is the Cut/Layers:

I just can’t seem to figure out why the laser wont burn/etch into anything.
Any one see where I might have a problem?
Thanks…

Those numbers are the maximum speed your laser is allowed to move. What units are your speeds in? If the 180 is in mm/min, I would expect that to leave a mark if everything is focused and set up properly. If it’s in mm/sec it’ll be too fast.

Also worth checking that the ‘S-Value Max’ parameter in the Device Settings is set to 1000 to match the $30 setting in GRBL.

The speed is mm/m. I checked the S-Value Max parameter in the device setting and it matches the $30 value. Both are 1000. It seems like the laser isn’t at full power even though I have it set that way.

Any other ideas?

I am beginning to think that the laser or the power board might be defective.

As a test, try changing the device to use GRBL-M3 instead of GRBL. That will use “constant power” mode and doesn’t care if you try to run it too fast - it will always output the power you ask for, but the quality of vector marking will be reduced (you get burnt corners).

I will try that but I think I might have found the problem. There is a diode on the laser control board that looks burnt.I will try what you suggested to make sure, but I am guessing I need to change out the diode. Or get (or make) a new driver board. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
