I have several material in the lightburn’s library and recently i tried to add names in the Cut Settings Editor window! I save the library and when i reopen lightburn the names are gone! I am using linux mint xfce. I have a windows OS laptop and i will also try it
It’s confusing, but AFAICT the layer names in the Cut Settings editor apply to the layer, not the material.
The Material Library doesn’t know anything about the specific layer you will apply its entries to, so it doesn’t care about the layer name.
You can change the layer names using the various Default buttons at the bottom of the Cut Settings editor.
Then why is it active? Shouldn’t be grayed and not possible to write something in there?
IIRC, that field changes the cut layer name as usual, but if you have the layers set up to reload their defaults on new projects and didn’t update those defaults, you’d never notice it:
