Need help to calibrae cut area

Hi all and thanks for the help. New laser user. I have tried to read every thread and youtube video. I have since tried to align the laser head to square. I created a square on the boundary f the cut area and it is not a square. I have ran it with every different bulge setting changed and it is still blown out.

You can see in the pics how the square is convex. How do I fix that.
I also seem to have issues when trying to cut on the far outside. It is either curved, even though the design is straight or it just skips the area all together.

You can see the cut squares and how they are not square. The other shows the laser just skipping the 4" Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Your machine should have come with an alignment file, usually something like markcfg7

Lightburn will allow you to import it when you create a new device. You can also edit the current device, what you don’t change is retained.

The other option is software that come with EZCad2, can’t remember, but doing it manually is an issue. Double check for that file on the usb stick that came with it.

Mine was here on the stick

LMA22A1095JZ/Ezcad2.14.16/plug/markcfg7

Might watch this video… uses the supplied EZCad2 software to adjust this…

If you want to do it the hard way…

Sing out if you have issues.

Good luck

Thank you for the reply. I knew I watched a vid how to fix it, but couldnt find it again. The supplied usb from Omtech when inserted set of every anti virus software on the computer. There is no reason for a clean install of ezcad to do that so I clearly didnt use anything on that USB. I will reach out to omtech again for a clean usb.

Turns out there was no config file on the usb.

That is odd, meaning the lens never was calibrated…

I would complain at OMTech and see if they will cough up some kind of a refund for the inconvenience of a machine that wasn’t calibrated.

I guess it’s on you to configure the lens…

IMHO, use the corfile2 software that creates the cor file… It requires calipers, but is the most simple of the bunch.

I have four lenses, one was factory, one was done by me the old fashion way and the other two with Corfile2…

Had to steal the spouses Windows :poop: machine to use it… I also applied black masking tape as he does in the video.

Good luck
