Need Help with Lightburn Print and Cut

Hello I’m very new to LightBurn and laser engraving. I recently purchased an ACMER S1 PRO 3.5 WATT laser because I want to get into creating more personal projects.

I’m having an issue using the print and cut feature in LightBurn. I set my two reference points up with the laser fire method, then I choose scale, then go to frame to see what it looks like and it’s way off. It’s not even close. The paper I’m using is cardstock on a 8.5x11 piece of paper but the circle is obviously way smaller.

I’ve been trying to get this right for a couple days now. Can someone help me? I really would like to properly learn how to use this machine. I’ve attached pictures.

I think you have your machine origin set incorrectly. You have it set for the lower right corner. With most diode lasers, the machine origin is lower left corner. If you engrave text does it appear correctly or mirrored in some way?

Hmm.. So I need to change it to the left corner and that should fix the issue you think? I tried engraving one time and the image came out mirrored.

That will definitely fix an issue. You have to have your machine set up correctly no matter what.

It looks to me like your cut graphic is rotated 90* by the shape of the cross hairs. That doesn’t make sense if it’s just a L-R issue. Does this machine have limit switches? If so, what corner does it go to when you tell it to home? That is the corner you need to set your machine origin to. This is done in the Device Settings Dialog. (Wrench & Screwdriver Icon)

Here is a link to a posting that mentions Print and Cut quite a lot, with video links.

Looks like this…

And it makes the green square go here…

Yes the camera has limit switches on both x and y axes. When I tell the machine to go home the machine goes to the lower left. However when I initially setup the machine for the first time it gave me an option for lower left or right I chose right and haven’t touched it.

I mean the machine not camera.

OK, if it homes to lower left that is where your machine origin MUST be set to.
