Need to edit a single layer drawing

I have a single-layer drawing of a candelabra. I’d like to change the base from the existing to a more rounded one. I’d like to figure out how to make the top half of the oval shape below.

I don’t know how to separate the existing base from the overall candelabra nor do I know how to ‘cut the oval in half.’ Any suggestions will be incredibly helpful. Thanks so much in advance.

The Node Editor is what you need to use. Before you can use it on your oval though you will probably need to convert to a path. Right click on oval> Convert to Path.

Tim, thanks for the video. I got the ‘half dome’ shape I want. Easy peasy. But when I click on the candelabra itself, I cannot ‘convert to path’ as it remains grayed out. Thoughts?

It cuts the entire graphic out. Deletes the whole image. Thanks nonetheless.

It should already be a path. Native shapes drawn from within Lightburn are what they call primatives and they must be converted to edit the nodes. Imported graphics are already a shape, which is why that option is greyed out. You should be able to node edit that shape directly. Note: if the shape is part of a group it must be ungrouped before editing.

Ahhh…so it is. Got it! Merci beaucoup. Appreciate the assistance.
