New galvo set up second decice getting error disconnected message

New Chinese galvo

100w JPT MOPA

Windows 11

Lightburn 2.0.?

First power on LightBurn found the laser

It came with the 110 lens installed so I set up that device.

Did a test cut/mark -success

Went to add a device to set up the 200 lens.

And that is when LB started to present the message at the bottom of the screen. “Error Detected - disconnected “ then presents " Found USB-lite"

Has anyone ran into this?
Im sure this is self induced, but figued i would ask before i started to assume remedies.

Thanks in advance

Hi Travis,

After you see “Found USB-Lite” does the galvo work again?

As I understand, you set up a second device and adjusted it to use the settings for the lens?
We describe this process here:

Aaron,

Thanks for the reply.

The two messages flip constantly between error … and found …

I attempted to post the video but format prevented that.

The laser control window flips between framing and disconnected. Which makes sense with the other messages.

Is there a log somewhere that will describe the error found?

Thanks for the video on lens swap.
I had viewed it before, and with my other machine had no problem settling up two devices to suppor a 110 and 300 lens.

The difference between what i did vs the video was i didnt right click duplicate.

I just started by building a new device manually. Loading the vendors markcfg7 file.

I will remove all devices and start again using the duplicate method. Ensuring that the first device works as expected.

Hi , Aaron.F. My new machine has a strange problem. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
When I use the machine, the Lightburn connection prompt keeps switching between Ready, Framing, and Disconnected. I’ve tried downgrading Lightburn to version 1.7 and using version 2.0, but the problem persists.

I also used a multimeter to measure the voltage of the control card’s power supply, and everything was normal. When I tried switching to Ezccad2, the Lightburn problem disappeared.

I really enjoy using Lightburn, but now I can’t use it. It’s a very troublesome problem.

You can upload the video to YouTube and post a link here.

That leads me to believe there might be an issue with the USB connection.

Did you make sure that no other program, or another LightBurn instance is trying to access the laser?

@AndreGomez What you’re describing sounds similar to what @Tbdllc-usa reported.

Can you both share the brand and model of your laser?

One thing to point out is that you need to swap the driver when going from EZCad2 to LightBurn.
I would have expected that it wouldn’t connect at all, if the wrong driver was installed, but it’s worth making sure:

After installing the driver, the laser will appear under Universal Serial Bus devices as USBLMCV2, USBLMCV4, or something else similar.

UPDATE 2

Reboot computer and power cycle laser. Wait a minute powered back on and symptoms are gone.

Guess the Microsoft method of repair will have to work for a while.

UPDATE
The situation has returned. I have been using the machine earlier today. But came bac this afternoon and LB is throwing this error again.

I did catch the error. “Bad board signature” you can catch that in the video.

So what a difference a day makes.
Fired up the system and no issues. I created a second devices as described by duplicateing the one that worked. The loaded in the mkcfg7 file for that lens and both devices seem to work well.

No hardware change or adjustments needed.

Thank you for the support. If this reappears ill post video.
