hey guys i just got a monport 30w with a galvo software? sorry new to this, im using lb and when im editing in it i used a simple line to measure my projects lenght, now when im about to burn its huge compared to my lb measuraments, i set my line to 35mm and on my laser surface shows as 60mm, i have a f-tetha 210mm lense but i found that its sweet burning spot its at 180mm, anyways how can i correct the sizing issue??
im running lightburn 1.6.01
When you say you are about to burn and you see that it’s huge, are you framing it and seeing the line larger or are you lasering it?
Here is a post on our forum with a similar issue: Framing using a Galvo Laser is larger than the size of the image
Here’s a video that shows you how to calibrate your lens: https://youtu.be/x08cRPkyToc?si=BehQxRcOTIO0zTgv
sorry! im actually lasering it on a piece of plastic, im definitely going to have to do the lense calibration as showed on the video, i havent done any of that yet for all those setting
im planning on doing gun stippling with this machine, is there anything also i have to do after fixing the general calibration?
thank you so much!!
You’re welcome!
If your red dot framing is wacky, it may need alignment: https://youtu.be/2Ec4-F49aV0?si=fNURQ_rxpdtNnEap
Hopefully your machine will laser as expected then!
Generally when you purchase a new machine, the supplied lens should be calibrated and the data stored on your memory stick shipped with your device.
On mine it was stored in the configuration file that you are queried to include when you create the device in Lightburn. Did you include that when you created the device?
On mine, it’s called markcfg7 and should be on your supplied stick.
Laser Everything has some good videos on it’s site and it’'s Youtube and their site.
If you haven’t done a lens correction, there is no telling what you’ll get. Any new lens needs a correction procedure.
Also check your timing.
Good luck
