Hi guys, hope you all well, I have an atomstack 20 w laser and just bought a new 40 watt laser module the make is sraeriot, I know this may not be the place to ask but I cannot find any answers, the new laser module has an extra connector and I dont know what its for, my laser has 2 connectors my new laser has 3
I’m at work now, when i’m back home i explain you, with pictures how you have to connect the new module.
Cause i’ve got the same module and MB than you. Don’t worry it’s simple
in your new laser cable you have a side with a 3 pin connector white and a 2 pin connector black. This is the laser module side and the connection is easy, in the 3 pin connector there are 4 wires, the blue is power+ the yellow and brown (together in a single pin in the middle) are GND and the green is the signal, the black connector is used for the red cross (that for me is useless) you can connect it or not, make no difference.
In the other side of the cable you have 3 connectors, 1 black with 2 pins, 1 white with 2 pins and another white with 3 pins.
The black connector has a red and black wires that, if you want use it you must connect on the 5V connector in the MB (the one i circled green in my picture) be sure to respect polarity , red is + and black is -.
The white connector with 2 pins has blue and brown wires this is the laser power and you have to connect it to the connector marked “laser” on you MB (the one i circled yellow on my pict) also here respect the polarity Blue is + and brown is -.
The last connector with 3 pins has only 2 wires, green and yellow. Green is the signal and yellow is GND, in this case to connect it into the MB, that has a 2 pin connector, you must pull out the green and yellow wires from the 3 pin and use a 2 pin (you can use the one from old laser module) then you can put it in the MB (the one i circled red in my pict) always respecting polarity, green is S and yellow is G (GND).
I hope this long explication is clear enough to help you. But i’m here if you have some other questions in cabling and connecting.
Hi again Gunter hope you are well, to be honest if the laser is faulty they make it really difficult to return, I got the price refunded from amazon, also I had to make adjustments to the CNC to make the module fit, I hope this has been helpful
