New laser stopped cuttin thru 3mm Baltic birch on second board

New laser Polar, cut one board fine. loaded the second board, same settings and it will not cut thru…changed the power and speed and nothing is working. I even lowered the laser as low as I could without touching the board and it doesn’t matter. It will not cut thru the 3mm baltic birch board. I tried up to 6 passes and still not cutting thru.
There are so many settings I don’t understand but I didn’t change anything after I got it set to cut right the first time.
I have tried finding videos, chats, groups and no one has an answer
Help please

If you set it up as it was, but lower the power to just make a line on the material…

Is it marking the wood in any fashion?

Is the line the same thickness as it was?

  1. properly working tube
  2. clean aligned optics
  3. proper focus

If you have these three, they work.

Most simple is to ensure focus.
Next, ensure the lens is clean.

I don’t know if alignment is a user serviceable option with the Polar.?

Odd that it ran fine once…

:smile_cat:

It is a brand new laser that has only cut a couple things. it doesn’t matter what I set the focus and speed at, the line is always the same and no cut thru

I even lowered the laser as low as I could without touching the board

May not be problem, but focus is critical adjustment.
I would check my mirror alignment. New equipment can have things improperly assembled or not properly tightened.
