New machine setup--locks in home position

Rookie user…I have the Sculpfun 30 Ultra version. I’ve set up Lightburn, I thought everything was setup correctly. The machine will home correctly, but when I make a square to test the framing command, it stays locked in the home position.

Console message reads in part;

ALARM:1

Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost due to sudden and immediate halt. Re-homing is highly recommended.

I have rehomed several times, but same message comes up. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix? Thanks

I followed info from this forum regarding another users similar problem. Following those instructions, I entered $$ and $# commands. Here is info from those commands:

Your home position is bottom left? In move window at top what does get position report when you click it? Are you using start from absolute coordinates in laser window?

Settings look ok. After homing, does the laser move 2mm away from the switches? Or does it stay with the switches activated?

Thanks for the suggestion. I received a few other tips from Sculpfun forum today. I was able to fix the problem. It was as simple as flipping a switch on in Lightburn. Man there sure are a lot of switches. :blush:

So, clue us in on the fix, so others with this problem can benefit.

Actually it was two changes. I changed the start from: to absolute coordinates. In device settings I turned on Relative z moves only.

I’m didn’t test to see if both were needed or just one command was the culprit. I was just relieved to get it coming.

Thanks to everyone’s suggestions. I’m sure I’ll be back with other concerns.
