Im getting a new Monport 40 ready for first print for a friend after she buggered up the mirror adjustments. Ive got them adjusted and have connected the laser to Lightburn. Start mode is ‘absolute coords’ and the laser homes properly. However, when i try to move the laser with the move buttons I get:
ALARM:2
G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. Machine position safely retained. Alarm may be unlocked. (Right-click the ‘Devices’ button to reset the connection)
On or near line 1:
Ive swapped the USB cable and even swapped computers and restarted the laser, lightburn and computer. Still no joy…
You need to figure out what alert 2 is. I’ve looked at my sources for grbl and it says error or alarm, nothing really about alerts…
On a new machine, it’s always wise to contact the vendor to at least get it operational. It’s usually 24 hours for an email each way so the sooner you make contact the better..
Im very sorry, I typed that incorrectly in the original post. What im getting is actually ALARM:2, not ALERT:2.
ACTUAL TEXT:

I have corrected the original post and im hoping that this makes a difference in your response as im not looking forward to contacting the vendor in China…
Im starting to think that my friend has more issues with this laser than just mirror alignment.
