I have recently been using licensed lightburn for GRBL (lasermaster 3) and recently (awaiting on arrival) ordered a 30W fiber laser machine. I bought seperate lightburn license for fiber machine but question is do I use the same software and add both licenses in it or do I have to download a second copy of lightburn for the fiber laser. I know stupid question, but wasn’t sure how the software worked being I would be operating to different types of laser machines. Thanks in advance.
Note that you did not need to purchase a separate license for the fiber. It would have been enough to upgrade your current license.
The galvo license includes the ability to run g-code machines like the Laser Master 3. So you should be able to go to Help->License Management, deactivate your current license, and then activate the new galvo license key to provide both g-code and galvo capabilities.
This means your original license is still good as a g-code only license and could be used elsewhere.
When you get the fiber, follow the instructions here for how to configure it.
They are totally different animals, although both are lasers…
Good luck
Thank You very much. Looks like by trying to be proactive I wasted some $$. Thank You again for clearing that up for me. Much appreciated.
