Until now, the connection between Lightburn on my MacBook Pro (Big Sur) and my Laser IKIER Pro Max was without any problems. I deliberately didn’t update the software to the new Lightburn version at first, but even then I couldn’t establish a connection via USB. The same problem after the update. I restarted my MacBook, shut it down and started it up again, as well as the laser. I also tried different USB cables and of course different USB slots. Nothing works.
If anyone has any advice I would be very grateful 
I would think is more coincidental than the result of the update
With your machine unplugged, open a terminal and type
ioreg -p IOUSB
Copy/paste result
Power on and plug usb - make sure if you are on M1 chip you accept the “external device connection” prompt
(lightburn can and should be closed)
ioreg -p IOUSB
again in terminal

Then launch lightburn, recheck your dropdown is not set to bluetooth but to the correct cu.usbmodemxxxx device?
