No Q-Pulse Setting for Monport GA30 MOPA Fiberlaser

Me and two friends recently bought the Monport GA30 MOPA Fiberlaser because we wanted to do some colored engraving. It arrived yesterday and everything seemed to work great but when i went to do some test engravings i didn’t see any setting for Q-Pulse in Lightburn, after some quick googling i saw that you have to enable it in the machine settings.

So thats what we tried. Hit the little “Enable Q Pulse With Setting” toggle and thought i was good to go but there was still no option to set the Q Pulse. Here are the Full Settings:

I saw multiple people on youtube with the same Laser setting the Q Pulse just fine. From what i gathered the problem seems to be the Fiber Type RAYCUS which doesn’t support Q Pulse width? Is that correct? Can i just change that setting and im good to go? Do i have to return the laser? I don’t understand why ours is so different from the ones i saw online? Also some people seem to be able to run this laser up to 125 KHz from what i saw, why does ours stop at 80? Can i just change that setting? Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated we are still very new to this Laser stuff.

Fiber type needs to by IPG-YLPM I believe and then power cycle laser. Also your frequencies can have a lot more range, look at your spec sheet.

I absolutely missed the part where it said that in the manual. Or i had the wrong manual initially, i don’t know. But thanks for taking the time to answer!
I Also changed to Frequencies to allow a Max of 500 Khz. Did a test with the new settings yesterday and was able to mark color on stainless steel with no Problems at all!

Good to here. Dig around, a lot of MOPAs are 1Khz to 4000Khz. Also see if you can find a full power cutoff frequency table for your laser. Some good information in there for MOPA users

For info, Monport advertise your laser as having a frequency range of 1Khz to 3000Khz.
