Hi all, my first try at understanding nodes, i watched a utube clip which showed you can draw a straight line select the node edit hover mouse over centre and press m to insert a node on centre, when I do this I get 2 blue square dots one on centre one to the right and this only lets me deform the line, I just can’t figure it out
I have 3 points, 2 at the end and the new one in the middle.
What do you want to do with that node, can you show a screenshot or explain it a little differently?
this is what I get when I click m
this is before I click m they are circles at each end not square
Its frustrated me for a couple of weeks but found the answer, figured it out I was holding the left mouse button while drawing the line which lets you make curves, thank for the reply bernd
Ahhh, now I understand how things work together.
Because you hold down the mouse button you get a “curve” and it has the round marks at the end.
I always hold down “Shift” to get a straight line. When I afterwards set a node in the middle I can manipulate the point, I press “S” on the new point, it also becomes “soft” or into a curve.
But, not with round endpoints, strange and I’ve forgotten why.
