Node snapping distance?

Is there a way to make Nodes snap together with a more generous tolerance?

I fiddle fart around “forever” trying to join nodes. Typically I’m closing a loop. I know I can use the auto-join and auto-close (which usually works fine) but I prefer to minimize the use of keyboard shortcuts if I can. I’ve poked around to see if there’s a setting for snapping distance but I think all I’ve found for that is related to grid snap. Am I missing something?

If you hold the alt key all snapping behavior should be much more aggressive.

This seems to be what you’re looking for:

I have it set to 15 pixels on a 2560×1440 display and it “feels” about right, although that’s surely an acquired taste.

So grid and object snap affects nodes, too? I must admit I didn’t even try adjusting it because I assumed it was limited to docking and grid snap…which already work OK.

Thanks to you both. I’ll try both suggestions.
