I am new to laser cutting and my XTool D1 Pro. I have a simple rectangle with text in it to test the system. When I center the laser on the project wood and select “frame” it only goes up and down in the Y direction and I can’t figure out what is wrong. Any suggestion/s
Ok. I got the FRAME to work in X and Y direction. But when it starts to cut it just moves a fraction in the X direction and nothing in the Y direction and then sends an alarm to the laser.
If you are aligning to edge of work space try moving it away from edge/corner and see if that works.
I am using center. I think I found an issue with the belt. The bar with the gear on the end is not sitting correctly on the frame of the laser.
Nope. That didn’t fix the cutting issue. Framing works fine, but cutting just sits basically still and issues an alarm after 15 seconds.
I am getting this message from Lightburn prior to starting the laser to cut. “Cut might be out of bounds-Continue anyway?” I move the wood all over the place to see if it solves that issue, but wherever I put it and run the “frame” command succesfully I get the same message.
How are you homing laser?
I select home and the laser goes to the top left corner. Although I have home on my screen as the bottom left corner. Is there a way for the laser to recognize the bottom left corner as 0,0?
In device settings what is origin set to?
Wondering why the laser offset is enabled. Try disabling it. Also go to console and type in $$ then enter. Copy and paste output.
I sure appreciate your help. Here is what I get when I type in $$

In console type in $23=2 then enter. Does that change your home?
No. My home on the screen is still at bottom left. And selecting home on the screen sends the laser to the upper left.
What does $23= report when you enter $$?
It just says OK
Sorry don’t enter ? Just $$
I mean it says 0
Xtool may not allow these changes. If you jog down to lower left corner and click get position in move window what does that report?
