Not understand how to keep the same origin

Well I wish this forum would accept iPhone videos because this question is complex…

lb4

I am trying to cut the hexagon out, take that piece out of the material it was cut from, bevel the edges, pop it back in the same spot it came from, and then engrave it so that it engraves the edge of the angle.

The only way I can figure out how to do this. is if I delete the engraved part, cut the hexagon out, leave the material in place, take it to the saw, bevel it, then come back and pop it in the same spot. I can only get it to do what I want if I have it run the cut path again after I put it back in the mold. i cant figure out how to delete the line and keep the same positioning…

When I delete the outside line in LB and the engraved part stays in the same location… it moves the origin in LB, and also moves the positioning on the machine and flips the logo upside down.

I don’t want to have it cut the same path again and just want to keep the same origin and then engrave in the same spot it came from.

sorry for this crazy long run on…i could have asked all this in a 30 second video.

Yea so how do I share a video cause that all seems like it makes no sense.

For videos you have to use a third party host. Youtube, Vimeo, etc. and link to video.

In your particular file, just turn off output for the engrave layer and make your cut. Cut your bevel and place it back in the hole it came from. Turn the engrave layer back on and the cut layer off. The origin will stay attached to the red layer, but it won’t output.
