I have had my OLM3 since May. No real serious issues. This morning I did a few test cuts no problem. I went to increase the homing speed and that’s when my homing issues began. I tried put the homing speed back, that didn’t work, then I did a reset. That didn’t work.
My machine will not home at start up. It will frame no problem. When I tell it home it will do so on the x-axis but not the y-axis.
It’s framing so there’s not a mechanical problem.
If anyone has any insight that would be very helpful.
How did you do this?
What happened when you attempted to change it back? In what way did it not work?
When you say it didn’t work, are you saying the speed of homing didn’t change back or that homing did not work as expected?
What does happen on the Y-axis? Can you describe in detail what happens when you attempt to home?
Additionally, can you run these commands in Console and return the full output?

I went to Machine Settings and increased $24=3000. Then I hit home to if that increased the speed. The laser head didn’t move at all, that when I reset $24=1500. After that nothing that I did would the machine to home. So then I decided I that since I had never attempted to change anything like that before to do a reset. I did that in hopes that the machine would home to absolute coordinates. After doing the reset the machine will not home at startup. I can jog the laser to the home position and frame the project. It used to return to the home position after the job was completed now it doesn’t. It stays where the job finished. When I hit the home button the laser will move along the x-axis but the Y-axis doesn’t move at all.

Note the there are 2 parameters that affect homing speed. $25 affects homing seek rate while $24 affects homing feed rate. Seek rate ($25) is the speed used during the initial movement. Feed rate ($24) is used after the laser head first contacts the homing switches and then recontacts the switches.
You likely didn’t see an apparent speed change because you changed $24 rather than $25. And your parameters for both speeds now look a bit high. It’s possible that the speed is too high for the Y-motor to accommodate.
Let’s change those back to default values. Please run this in Console:

Looks like for some reason these values didn’t change.
Can you try running this again?
$24=600
$25=800
$H
After doing so, run $$
to confirm the change has been made. If it has not, then try resetting all configurations by issuing this command:
$RST=*
If you are connected via WiFi that may require you to reconnect.
Then check $$
again to confirm that $24 and $25 have reverted to default values.
If it does, then try homing. If it does not, then revert back with your findings.
