Hello all!
We are having issues with our school’s omtech 2440 pro. It seems to be one thing after another. so here is the litany of issues as succinctly as I can.
-
After a successful run without issues, the z-axis would only allow downward movement.
a. remedied with a factory reset. Our code had to be a modified version of the HF8888 (ours does not have a a-z keyboard for the code so we had to use 888888) -
Factory reset was successful in allowing use to move the z-axis both left and right. However, the y-axis was inverted.
-
Several more factory resets seemed to move the origin around the bed and would periodically disable the y-axis.
-
We tried to follow omtech forum recommendations to “reset” the axes using a different button than the “factory reset”. I cannot get it to stop attempting the reset on boot-up now. It crashes into pillars.
-
omtech customer service sent me the parameter file to help get it back on track, it still exceeds bed limits but at least the y-axis is no longer inverted.
Why does the “factory reset” not reset it to a consistent point? At times the farthest the x-axis would allow to the right would be midway in the middle of the bed and other “factory resets” send it crashing into the far left or right pillars. At times, the y-axis would be completely disabled or would not be allowed to proceed upward, only down. At this point using the code to factory reset the machine feels more like a “shuffle setting” button and feels like a complete lottery.
I have been attempting to communicate with customer support with omtech with little progress.
