I searched topics but could not find information. My brother in law gave me his OMTECH k40+ 40W CO2 laser but it had a bad tube. I replaced the tube. Tested paths in lightburn everything moved right. I did a homing and that moved correctly. Upon trying to engrave I had the home set in the top left where it homes to, however when running the code from Lightburn it goes down the side and crashes into the wall. If I do not do homing and just do an engraving setting the laser to the bottom left it seems to run fine. Am I missing a switch or something? OMTECH was no help told me to buy one of their overpriced boards
What does it say in the position boxes when it is in the front left corner? If it is not indicating near X=0, Y=0, then you are not in the first quadrant. Lightburn is designed to operate in Quadrant 1, but your setup sounds like it may be in Quadrant 2.
Tried all 4 corner origins. I get these notifications when trying to frame. Though if I don’t home the laser I can run it just fine
You can copy and paste from the Console window.
You can use the Windows Snipping Tool to capture images.
You can take cell phone pictures, but those really suck when we are trying to help.
Second Image: It is showing you are either sitting on the Xaxis switch or it is stuck closed. This can generate the Alarm 8 message.
First image: Not all of the GRBL parameters are listed. Some of those we cannot see are important here.
Third image: Those are user generated by commands the controller cannot execute.
To get Home to work, the limit switches have to be working properly.
- In the Console window, right click and select Clear Console.
- While tripping (holding closed) both switches, enter ? in the Console window.
- With nothing holding the switches closed, enter ? again.
- Copy and past everything from the Console window in a Reply.

Current Settings.lbset (5.9 KB)
here are the machine parameters and settings. I thought about buying a new board but all new boards seem to have a ribbon cable. this one does not.
I hope this is the information you are asking for.
That information ($$) could be useful, but not for diagnosing limit switch issues. Please try again…
