Opening a saved file on a different computer

I have been emailing lightburn files to my brother. When he opens the files to make a project, they are out of whack. Some are huge on his screen, others will flip text. We made sure our software has the same origin settings. Not sure what else we need to do, because he has to re-do everything I send him and that kinda defeats the purpose of me designing, lol! Does anyone have ideas about this? Thanks so much for your help!

Upload a screenshot of your lightburn screen when you save the file, then have him send you a screenshot of the file on his screen after opening and upload that here too. It may help us see what is going on. Might be good to upload your .lbrn2 file as well.

You both need the same LightBurn device configuration to get the proper machine origin & scaling:

I’ll double check the device config. I thought we checked that, but need to confirm. We had bigger issues to tackle yesterday that came up unexpectedly. Will send the screen shots, too. Thanks so much!

Wolf Lake Board LARGE.lbrn2 (276.3 KB)

I uploaded pics of our screens as well as the file. Thank you so much for your help!!!

One is in inches, the other in millimeters. One is for a Ruida controller, the other is likely a diode laser. One has filled screen rendering, the other is wireframe.

It looks as though the two PCs do not have matching configurations and are not using the same device. If you have not yet done the configuration migration I suggested above, then that’s the first step. The next step will be to select the same device on both PCs to sort out the origins and suchlike.

Oh my goodness! We both use the same machine, and its the only machine either of us have used! Will definitely dig deeper…can you tell we are new to this?! THANK YOU!!!

Everybody starts there: welcome aboard!
