Operations not updating

when do signs I will type some words set a tool and operation do a test , than copy text, set a dif operation and toolpath and do this multiple times till i find what i like with pervious RCs it has worked sweet

now in RC 10 every time i copy text and add new operation i have to save and restart MM for operation to work

this one green registered path and ran job, but when running wouldn’t lower to material.

after saving , restarting MM it cut sweet as

test dojo oath.mage (1.6 MB)

I don’t follow what you mean here. Are you using the Preview (Alt + P) to verify?

BTW: If you often need to assign the selected shapes to an operation, you might appreciate the Auto Use Layer feature.

sorry for not making sense some times, bloody brain injury, in my head makes scene but fingers dont follow on screen

ill see if can explain better

copy paste the text in trailing to another part of work area

BTW: If you often need to assign the selected shapes to an operation, you might appreciate the Auto Use Layer feature.

use this regularly when creating multiple operations. but not when im in trial mode

Thanks for explaining again.
No need to apologize. Especially with this back story, I admire what you are doing and we appreciate the feedback!

When you copy and paste text, the operations assigned to it don’t det copied. This is by design.
You need to either select the new text and assign it to the op with a right-click

Or enable the Auto Use Layer feature.

I just tried this with the old RC6, and saw the same behavior. (So I might be missing your point still.)

yip understand that , i copy text and set new operation and different tool , i do test runs to see what tool suits the text , eg some text looks better pocketed , others look better with a v bit along line,

we cant unload videos here ah , a video would show what I’m doing

can you open youtube from here,? maybe if i video it and save to there might show better

Ah, so you run a physical test on the machine. Is the Preview not showing the outcome already?
If the Preview is off, it’s either because of a wrong Z-Height, or wrong tool geometry.

Absolutely. You can upload the video to Youtube or Vimeo and paste a link here.

yes preview shows it, but i prefer to see it physically to see the finish on the material, and then decide what i like the best

Understood.
Just remember: If the physical outcome looks way different from the preview,

i think there is bug in RC10

i rolled back to RC8 and have re done all theses files , plus 4 other jobs totalling in about 4 hrs of machine time with no issues, Z running at right depth , not diving into material like in last post i put up

i also noticed in preview if adding additional operations or turning off out put on some the machine time wouldnt change?
