Can you take a screenshot of Edit->Device Settings and post here?

i know the enable fire button is disabled currently thats because i deleated the device and then readded it hoping it may fix it… it did not

I don’t see anything in Device Settings or your GRBL configuration that would cause this.

Does your laser otherwise work normally?

If you increase/decrease power of the Fire button can you modulate the intensity of the laser light?

Recheck the laser module cable. Is it possible that it’s plugged in backwards?

yeah thats the strange part. going from .5 to 100 there is a huge power difference, kinda like it goes from mid power to high power but doesnt appear to be a low power anymore if thats even possible haha. i was trying to see if i could find a list of everything the $$ does on the ortur master 2 pro LF but i wasnt able to locate a full list

doing a material test, just to make sure it still reads low power maybe its stuck on 100 all the time?

okay so when i personally click the fire button it fires at the correct power, however if i click frame or start its instantly at 100% power. any idea?

There are a few proprietary add-ons but you can get a list of the standard GRBL config settings here:
grbl/settings.md at master · gnea/grbl · GitHub

Frame should use the same power as defined in Fire button.

Try this. Enable “Show all” in Console. Then click Fire button and then disable. Then run a framing operation. Can you collect the Console output and paste here?

only buttons clicked was fire and then fire again to turn off the laser then frame.

i think i found it? i unplugged it from the motherboard from my wall and computer and cleaned the connectors with some good ol air and replugged it back in and it seems to be running high and clean again? you think that could have been it?

The power indication is the same for both so I don’t think it’s a matter of what’s being sent to the laser.

Can you confirm which connections you cleaned? Just the USB cable and power adapter? If so, doesn’t seem likely this would address it. The cable from motherboard to laser module I could see potentially having an effect.

i cleaned the usb and the power port to it, and then i cleaned the lazer and reconnected it to the wiring on the drag chain, i tried to clean as much as i could around it and it seems to be working just fine now hopefully it stays that way haha

Glad it’s working now. I suggest you keep a careful eye on it for a while. Wouldn’t want a random 100% power causing a fire.
