Out of Ideas on Sluggish Lightburn Software

I’ve seen similar questions, but never a definitive solution. My LB software is very sluggish. Mouse is jerky and freezing. I’ve tried many different ideas to fix it, but no luck.

The problem is coincident with upgraded laptops. Different brands. Different processors. Different mice (wired and BT). I’m finding no common thread… Except that my older laptops (now failed, so I can’t go back) did not have the problem.

The problem is not evident in other applications other than LB, so it’s something about the LB software.

Things I know it’s NOT: Overloaded memory. Too many open apps. WiFi problems.

Has anyone solved this issue?

Thank you!

Steve

Open your task manager, see what is bogging down your computer. My cyber security program really makes mine choke while it is scanning.

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC

Does the same thing happen if the laser is not connected to LB?

Thanks Jim. Unfortunately it isn’t any of the usual suspects. CPU running at 3 - 5%. Same trouble regardless of laser.

How does yours compare to mine, i5 processor Win10 notebook?. I never have any issues with Lightburn speed.

Yep. That’s pretty close to what I see. 2-3$ CPU, 50 memory, 2% disk.

Try a different USB cable (stock answer from the big wheel o’ solutions I keep under my desk…)

Can you share a file that has this behavior? Upload here for a head to head comparison.
