When I begin the engraving I get a message stating that over scan exceeds my work area. I don’t know what has happened-the image I’m choosing to engrave is quite small actually. If i choose to start anyway then my laser just passes left to right and won’t fire. Any ideas of what happened? Thanks- Bob
Post a screenshot (not a phone pic please) of your entire Lightburn work area with the laser tab and cuts/layers tab visible. Also post a screenshot of the preview window with the ‘Show Traversal Moves’ enabled.

Overscan allows the laser head to love past the edge of your engrave object. If that object is close to the edge of your workspace, the laser head would crash into the rails.
On your preview screen, click on SHOW TRAVERSE MOVES. A red outline will appear around your engrave object. The faster your laser head is moving, the larger the overscan will be.
