I’m using your software with an Ender 3 Pro, Marlin firmware - SKR mini e3 v2.
My question is, if I burn at 100mm/m, it turns out great, but anything above that looks horrible. And I know speed somewhat matters (only matters?) but, people keep talking about 3,000 and 6,000mm/m burn rates. I know I’m only using a 500mW laser, but math says I should be able to burn quite a bit faster. Pics attached. The laser is shooting way beyond what it should. And that is my question: speed makes the X way overshoot what it’s supposed to.
Yes, I know I’m over burning, these were my first batches of tests, I’m only doing 15% now to burn.
But my question is around the fact that the image looks good from far away, but what is causing the laser burning over where it’s supposed to? On the X axis, it’s going beyond where it should.
I think Marlin by default has ramping or delays in the fan settings. You will want to make sure those are disabled, though I don’t know how to do that.
I’ll try to look those up in the firmware and change them. Unfortunately, I’m using the stock SKR firmware, but if this could solve my issue (which sounds like it could), I will invest the time in building my own (custom) firmware.
