I forgot to mention the wood is solid Maple and has been coated with a borax solution.

Did you first convert the image for CO2 laser engraving on wood, or did you engrave it directly without preparing it?

I have an Atomstak A5 Pro which is not a CO2.
I also sent the light burn file with all the settings in Shape Properties.
It’s hard to see, but I think it is either not lasing during certain lines (unlikely) or it’s Y axes is not stepping properly in those areas.
Look closely and the lines exist with no damage, so the laser is missing it or it’s not firing.
I’d look for anything loose first…
