"position Laser" point does not match actual burn point

using a Laser master 2 running on windows 11

  1. I use the “position Laser” function to mark a point on the surface corresponding to a point in my drawing.
  2. When I activate the laser to etch that drawing, the marked point from step 1 does not match where the laser actually burned.
    3a.if the point from step one is near the top of the grid, the burned point is about 9mm below the point marked from step 1
    3b. if the point from step one is near the bottom of the grid, the burned point is only about 1mm below the point marked from step 1.
    I tried to “calibrate Y Axis” but it does not seem to help.
