You can exchange the iCube laser heads, though the 10W heads needs a different power connector. But the heads are not sold separately yet, I think.

In general, you can also use it with plastics (if that’s your question), but lasering plastics is dangerous in most cases and not really advisable.

You can set the 10w to 1 watt by entering 10% in the Power Max (%) box of the Cuts/Layers window. There is no need to buy a lower power laser. My 10w laser will give a visible light at 0.25%, but will not burn anything.
