Power settings for Atezr V35Plus laser

I am a first time user to laser engraving. I purchased a Atzer V35 Plus laser and have been testing various materials. Based on some materials, it doesn’t seem like it etches deep based on the guidelines in the manual. It almost seems like I am not getting full power from the laser. Is there any recommendations to settings I should be reviewing.

Did you follow the Lightburn setup for grbl?

The values of $30 and S-Value Max must be equal…

I just checked in the console and the values of $30=1000…From set-up that should be correct
