Pre cutting going through a job midway

Hi all,

I am a newbie my laser is doing a pre cutting stage that in the middle of a job is cutting through my work.

I think the guys who installed did it for when I’m cutting steel but with wood it’s not working out.

Does anyone know how to stop this stage altogether?
