Preview cuts off part of image

I’ve got an atomstack a20 pro. I’ve just started my adventure into engraving. I’m working with pilsner glasses. I’ve made some different designs, and have been testing them. Now I’m playing with grayscale for some of the images. The problem I currently have is that when I switch the heart on the graphics to grayscale, in the preview it cuts part of it off. Even playing the preview, it cuts it as a straight line, so it’s not like a visual error or something in the preview. It looks fine on the main screen, and switching it to any other adjustment shows fine in the preview. I’m just trying to not have the heart a solid image. I tried it earlier, and it added too much time to it. I’m also adjusting speed/power settings too to find efficient numbers. Currently just did 2000 at 85% with a different one just fine, going to try 3000 next

Interesting… and unusual.

I don’t see any reason for this in the Images that you’ve shared.

If you’re willing to share your LightBurn file I’m confident that someone here could figure it out.

I think I just figured it out. I just updated lightburn. Now when I go to adjust the image, I get a pop up saying I need to disable pass through. After doing this, grayscale shows properly in the preview.

Just an fyi to anyone I guess

Pass Through is used to pass a ‘Faithful’ copy of the image portion of your project out to the laser.

Turning off, Pass Through, probably changes the image handling to one of the Image Modes shown here:

I don’t see why it would cut the edge off.

I’m not sure. To quote Joe dirt, “I’m new, I don’t know what to do!”.

Lightburn wouldn’t even let me open the image adjustment window unless I turned off passthrough on that layer (image). It just gave me the new pop up

Yeah, Pass Through is No Adjust.

And as for not knowing… It’s part of the journey. You’ll find that part changes quickly.
