"Print and Cut" alignment

I’m trying to use “Print and Cut” to align front and back sides.

The SVGs are software-generated, the backside SVG basically is a mirrored (scale(1, -1) translate(0,$width)) sub-set (e.g. no cuts) of the front. So the files line up (and they do when I print them normally and manage to get the plywood sheet lines up perfectly).

So I added simple crosses to 2 opposing corners and set them to cut through from the backside. For testing, I cut that side on a piece of paper and turned it over purposefully sloppily. I then aligned the 2 marks and burned the front.

The result is that the 2 corners with the alignment marks and everything in a line between them lines up perfectly but the 2 other corners are off by about 3mm.

Um, am I doing something wrong?
