Problem - Titanium Dioxide Mixture for White tile

I got this recipe on this forum somewhere…forgive me, I don’t remember where.

I mixed 100ml School Glue,

3 tablespoons water,

2 drops liquid hand soap,

….mixed well.

Added 1 tablespoon titanium dioxide powder.

Again mixed well. Applied one layer with foam brush.

tried to engrave with my 10watt diode laser, 59”/min (1,498mm/min?), 65% power.

What I got was very pale, couldn’t really call it black.

Appreciate any comments…

I added another 1/2 tablespoon titanium dioxide powder to the mixture…better results.

Might peruse this thread… it is kind of long. This is what worked for me on my co2.

If you’re not getting blacks, it can be the coating thickness or the amount of heat you’re putting into it. Usually not enough power, but it can take off the TiO2 if it’s too hot.

Too thick of a coating, you loose detail, too thin, you also loose detail and lowers the level of blacks.

Good luck.. any issues - sing out.

Titanium Dioxide just with isopropanol shake spray best results no glue required warm tile up before spray it will dry quicke hair dryer or blow torch

Thanks. I may try that. I’m having a little trouble with even coatings.

Do you spray more than once after first one dries?

Depends how good first coat , but it probably better two coats let me know how you get on …I done it for 4 years hassel free
I tried the glue option Total Rubbish Russ
