Problem with Frame Command (Trace Boundary)

When I send a frame command (trace boundary) from Lightburn, the head tries to trace the Tools T1 and T2 layers in addition to the output layers and then stalls. I am not aware that I changed any settings. I’ve included a screen shot of my settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Lightburn V1.0.04 from the dmg file.
Computer: Macbook running Big Sur 11.6 Connected via USB cable
Controller: RuiDa RDC 6445 V15.01.19
Laser: Hanlaser HL-1060 100w CO2 600mm x 960mm (23.62” x 37.75”)

Which frame button are you using? The rectangle or the circle frame?

In the version I have here, with the ‘Frame’ toggles off on the tool layer (the way you have them) it frames only the content of the job, not the tool layers, but there was an issue with the O-Frame button - it was including the tool layers too, which I’ve fixed.

I’m having trouble with the O-Frame. It sound like I am having the same issue as you. How can I get the fix?

I switched to the square frame. It tried to include the tools layers and stalled as well.

Unfortunately this seems to be something that was introduced with Big Sur - I have not been able to figure out yet why the Mac is doing this. If you can connect with a network cable from the Mac to the laser, all of this goes away, as it only seems to be a problem with the serial driver.

By “network cable”, can I assume “Ethernet Direct Connection” cable and not through a hub/router, or does it matter? I started out using a LAN through my router and that became a problem, so I started using the USB direct connect cable. This was back earlier in the year.

A single hop should be fine. If you go from the PC to the router, then the router to the laser, as long as the PC and the laser are on the same sub-net, and you’re not using WIFI, there should be no issues.

I’ll give this a try. Thank you for the hint and for supporting such a truly useful product.
