When making QR codes, the data in the “notes” section disappears whenever I go back to make an edit. All data remains except for “Notes”, for some reason, it will not save. I also notice the in the “first name” section, I can not enter more than one word. For example, I wanted my code to read, Larry the Laser Guy in the “first name” field. The program doesn’t seem to like spaces, if I enter Larrythelaserguy, it works fine. I am reading the code from a new iPhone 12. I am expecting the android crowd to let me have it…please, be kind…
The Notes issue has been fixed already for the next release. I’ve looked at the name section and there are no restrictions there - It stores internally as N:lastname, firstname and the spaces aren’t removed.
We did some cleanup in there recently, so it’s possible this is something that was broken but is now fixed.
I can enter “larry the laser guy” into First Name field without problem on 1.0.06.
The data appears fine on a Pixel phone running Android 12.
However, iPhone 6 running 12.5.5 finds the QR code but indicates “No usable data found”.
Thanks for the replies. I just checked it on my wife’s phone (samsung) and everything scans normally. My Iphone, however, does not. It would appear it is a phone issue, not software related. This problem coupled with my inability to scan NCF tags has me questioning my decision to go with the iphone. Anyway, thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
I also tested the QR code with some online QR readers and they also picked up the data. Seems like an odd issue to have with iPhone.
iPhones newer than I believe iPhone 7 should be able to read NFC tags. Not sure about your specific situation.
