Hello, I am new to this and had a question regarding fill issues I’m having. When using some files I have noticed some things appear to fill opposite of the image. Could someone explain to me how to fix this? I have attached to pics one of the intended design and one of how it came out.
The center circle, are there 2 lines? Are they on the same layer?
Also look for a duplicate circle covering one or both of them.
Everything is on the same layer and the center circle is one solid line
It’s showing like that in the preview because you have invert selected.
Regardless of black or white (inverted or not) it still shows the same. Why would it not inverted show the black to the letters and fill them correctly and show the middle black correctly but fill the opposite of what’s highlighted black in the preview?
It’s hard to tell bit it looks like there are 2 overlapping vector lines at these locations. Double check and make sure there is only 1 line.
You’re engraving on slate. Slate starts black and burns lighter.
You would need to invert the fill, either by removing one of the two outermost circles or by adding another one around them.
You are inverting the preview only - clicking “Invert display” just shows what it will look like when you engrave on dark material that burns light. You also have “show travel moves” enabled, which is showing the red travel lines (where the laser doesn’t burn).
The picture of the burned slate it looks like the center is inverted from what it is. Maybe I’m wrong. The outer words look correct but the anchors look reversed. Or vise versa.
Ahh, you’re right, but to determine why we’d need to at least see the fill settings, and would likely need the file to investigate.
The circle under the US should have two lines so that the laser engraves it the same as the outter most one. Then everything else within it should engrave properly?
I figured it out thanks to you guys for some reason the circle in the middle had three lines. I have copied and pasted that same image multiple time and haven’t been able to recreate it and of course I didn’t add it because it matched perfectly to the two lines in the middle. I removed the third line and everything worked perfectly. It is odd however that with two or three lines the preview doesn’t change at all and it indicated that it would burn correctly but everything within the center burned opposite as it should due to this extra line that I’m not sure where it came from. I don’t have a snap of what the third line looked like but I definitely didn’t add it but it was inside the two lines past the letters if that makes sense but here’s the images of the correct images.
