Question on new relative Z offset

Just had a chance to play with the Z Offset. Ruida controller here. I set a 1 mm Z offset on a piece that has quite a few cutouts in it. The laser will move to the start position of the cut, move down 1 mm, then do the cut. It then pauses, moves back up 1 mm, moves to the next cut and repeats, moving up and down for each cut. Is this expected behavior? Seems to slow things down somewhat with all the up and down movements.

Thanks.

This is expected behavior, yes. I’m going to add a setting to optimize Z moves, but I don’t want that to be the default in case you’re using the offset to clear clamps.

Completely understand. Thanks for the reply.
