I purchased a used longer ray5 20w with the X Y expantion kit on it already. it does not seem to be calobrated correctly? when i jog it 10mm at a time it moves a ton more, when it hit the right side of the frame it shows the X position at 200mm? it also will not do anything when i hit play on a project( simple square for a test.
I run a stock ray5 20w on the same PC and it is just fine. Please help.
Ask yourself what is physically different about the machines.
- Yaxis travel is extended.
- Xaxis travel is extended.
- Cables are extended.
Ask yourself what parameters would need to be adjusted.
- Yaxis Max Travel $131.
- Xaxis Max Travel $130.
- Make sure cables reach.
You did not specify what these travel limits, so no settings values were offered.
so, all the cables reach, the working area as stated by the manufacturer is 850mm X 850mm, that is what i entered into the field in light burn to set up the new machine (light burn doesn’t dicover ray5). and not sure what you meen $130 and $131 for the x and y axis?
If you look at the Machine Settings values for Max Travel, you will see those numbers. They are the GRBL parameters you are setting.
Just to confirm they actually changed, enter $$ in the Console window. Then copy everything after the $$ and paste it in your Reply.
While you are doing that, make sure the Origin is set to the Home position of your machine (the image is my machine).
